Jixueteng (Caulis Spatholobi)
Jixueteng, literally “chicken blood vine,” is a climbing woody plant used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to invigorate the blood, unblock meridians, and relieve wind-dampness. Recognized by its reddish-brown color (resembling dried blood), this herb is often prescribed for joint stiffness, numbness in limbs, menstrual irregularities, and postpartum recovery.
When decocted or added to herbal broths, Jixueteng promotes smooth blood flow and helps nourish muscles and tendons. Its mild and slightly sweet taste makes it compatible with other herbs in women’s tonic blends and blood-activating formulas.
